Mission
Beverly Hills Firemen's Association's mission is to provide dedicated service with excellence for the preservation of life, property and the environment since 1939.
History
Beverly Hills Firemen’s Association (BHFA) was formed in 1939.
In 1968 the Meyers-Milias-BrownAct passed whereby the City of Beverly Hills formally recognizes the Association as representing the firefighters as a whole.
In the mid-1970’s BHFA started getting politically involved by offering manpower to help support potential candidates, walking the precincts with political candidates off-duty, stuffing envelope mailers and sets up political signs in yards (signs still ongoing).
Beverly Hills Firemen’s Association joined Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce in the late 1970’s. BHFA volunteered on a bicycle race in the early 1980’s in Beverly Hills. 45 off-duty firefighter volunteers helped to make the giant race a success; demonstrating support of the City and community.
Beverly Hills Firemen’s Association built a small booth for a chili cook-off in the 1980’s. With so much positive reaction, BHFA decided to make a trailer to travel around and do events to support local charities and give back to the community of Beverly Hills. This tradition has carried forward to this day, where BHFA holds and supports events in Beverly Hills to volunteer its time and manpower to serve the greater good.
