BHFA Relief Fund
The Relief Fund was established in 1981 by Fire Chief William Daley to give assistance to Beverly Hills Firefighter Lee Reynolds. Lee was injured in an off-duty swimming accident that caused permanent paralysis from his chest down, thus ending his twelve-year career with the City of Beverly Hills. Today, the specific purpose of this fund is to receive charitable contributions and use those funds to financially assist injured Beverly Hills Firefighters and their families during times of financial hardship. The Relief Fund is a non-profit public benefit corporation and is tax exempt under the section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

BHFA Scholarship Fund
The BHFA Donald Reynolds Scholarship Fund was established in 2007. Don Reynolds was a longtime resident of Beverly Hills and very active in the community. During this time he not only admired but was also a dedicated supporter of the Beverly Hills Firefighters. Unfortunately, Don passed away in 2005 after a long, tough battle with cancer. In his memory, his wife Jeanne Reynolds donated the seed money to establish this fund. The purpose of the Scholarship Fund is to provide educational scholarships to the children of the Firefighters who work for the Beverly Hills Fire Department. The fund awards $2,500 educational scholarships to four worthy recipients per year. Scholarship winners are chosen by a Selection Committee of five community members not having any type of business relationship with the BHFA. Applications are submitted blind, without the applicant’s name or address, to insure a non-bias selection process. The BHFA Scholarship Fund is a non-profit public benefit corporation and is organized and operated for charitable purpose under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

BHFA Post-Retirement Medical Benefit Trust Fund
The BHFA Post-Retirement Medical Benefit Fund is a Voluntary Employees Beneficiary Association (VEBA), as described in section 501(c)(9) of the Internal Revenue Code. The fund provides eligible members of the BHFA and their eligible spouses with post-retirement medical benefits after the age of 65. The Fund was established in 1996 by fundraising profits from the annual Backdraft Ball. Subsequently, The Plan and Trust documents were created in 1999 when the first member became eligible for the benefit. Today, the fund benefits fifteen eligible retirees and their spouses.
