Donald Reynolds Scholarship Fund
The Donald Reynolds Beverly Hills Firefighters’ Association Scholarship Fund was founded in 2008 by Jeanne Marks in memory of her late husband, Don. This 501(c)(3) nonprofit provides college scholarships and K-12 educational enrichment program grants to the children of Beverly Hills firefighters. With no administrative expenses, 100% of the funds raised go directly to supporting the students. A dedicated Selection Committee of five community volunteers, who have no financial ties to the department, oversees the process. Since its inception, 74 college scholarships and nearly 300 K-12 enrichment grants have been awarded. The enrichment grants support a wide range of activities, from music and art lessons to sports camps, SAT tutoring, and school trips.
Since 2008, we’ve awarded over $450,000 in scholarships, helping students achieve their scholastic, artistic, and athletic goals.
Several scholarship recipients have completed their undergraduate degrees in under four years, with one now a Registered Nurse and another a School Principal.
Our athletes have won national medals and secured contracts with sports companies. We proudly support a U.S. Olympic water polo hopeful and a 5th grader who has excelled in gymnastics, winning multiple state and regional titles. By contributing to the Donald Reynolds Scholarship Fund, you help ensure the continued success of these talented children and their bright futures.
Student Success Stories
Scholarship recipient Cole Steele earned an impressive 3rd place in the state of California at the prestigious high school mountain biking competition. His brother, Cash Steele, 18, has claimed victory in several pro races and local competitions. However, his most notable achievement came when he placed 1st in the U.S. National Mountain Biking Championships for the 19-29 age group. As a result, several companies have begun sponsoring him with top-of-the-line bikes.
Emma Steele, part-time mountain bike racer and full-time art student, has already had her illustrations featured in publications related to mountain biking and motorcycle products. Her work has led to product placements within the industry. Meanwhile, their youngest sibling is thriving in the welding business.
Father of Scholarship Recipient
“My son, Corbin, received a scholarship to attend the UCLA water polo camp about five years ago. Just last month, he was informed that he will be living in Barcelona for the next six months to play professional water polo, as U.S. Water Polo has selected him as a potential 2028 Olympian.”

“My daughter received college scholarships from you for her first three years at UC Irvine. In 2020, due to COVID, scholarships were not awarded. She graduated in 2021, passed her RN license exam, and has been working as a labor and delivery nurse at Kaiser for 3 ½ years. UC Irvine’s program allowed her to take RN classes and complete clinical work during her last two years of college, enabling her to earn both her BA and RN simultaneously. Your scholarships helped her fast-track her education and achieve two degrees together.”
